I can't wait...

That was the title of the hit song from Nu Shooz. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? No idea, but that's how my mind works. I'm pulling a Robin right now: I'm sitting here in my pj shorts, belly full of breakfast, wearing my new pair of Mizuno Wave Nirvana after retiring the previous pair. There's just something about the feeling of new running shoes, before they get all sweaty and dirty. I didn't even realize how worn the old ones were until I compared them to the new ones. Wow! I hope you all are monitoring your shoes for wear better than I am. I've heard about 300-500 miles out of a pair, depending on your running style, weight, and general wear. I don't track mileage, so I monitor for wear and the little compression marks - lateral creases - around the heel. I also rotate shoes so I don't usually wear the same pair back-to-back.

As you can tell, I'm having a bit of a lazy Saturday. I should have done the group ride this morning, but I had an eye problem... just couldn't see getting out of bed to go. I'll go ride later, after Mendy goes to the pool and whatever else, which means you all can expect an update later. Yeah, that's got everyone hanging on the edge of their seats, I'm sure. *rolls eyes*

Quick update, while it's on my mind: Tigger and Pooh seriously need to get Eeyore some help. Talk about suicide watch candidate! Though on many levels I think Eeyore needs to suck it up and stop being such a big whiner about everything. What a jackass. :-p

Update: Ah, the much anticipated finale of today's blog! I know I talked about going for a ride, but I decided to train my weakness and went swimming. The pool was deserted when I got there, but people came in (and left!) while I was swimming. Here's the report:

2500yds in 44:31 @ 1:47/100yds

1st 500yd: 8:29
2nd 500yd: 8:52
3rd 500yd: 8:58
4th 500yd: 9:12
5th 500yd: 8:58

Longest swim to date, and I can't believe I was swimming for almost 45 minutes straight. What is wrong with me? Geez! Anyway, after that we went shopping and grabbed a bit at Red Robin. Delish, and the tummy is happy. Of course, some ice cream would make it more happy, but...

Well, back to refreshing Marcy and Jason's blog pages to see how they did!
