Hello darkness, my old friend...

"I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence."

I'm totally looking forward to the marathon this Saturday. Seriously. Or not.

But, we did get our tree tonight. Completely different from last year's pygmy tree, this one is a handsome height and breadth. And it smells of glorious evergreen! Time to break out the Christmas candles from last year's Yankee Candle after season sale.

But back to the marathon: pray for me. I totally want to quit it now, and I haven't even packed my running gear. Okay, that's a bit dramatic, but don't come here looking to find that I have done the mythical BQ thing on Monday!

Why are you not excited?! Because it's running, the training, or just because?!

You'll do great!!Just don't sh*t your pants or anything :P

Get your mind wrapped around the 26.2 and the body will follow. When you toe that starting line you will switch to your race mode. That is the David we all know!!

Love the smell of a fresh Christmas Tree. Nothing better!

Good luck, david. you'll do fine. I hope you don't hit the wall and crap yourself in public. That's really my only marathon goal. well, and finish.

Just stick to the pace you trained to and take what the day gives you. That's all any marathon runner can do. If the legs just aren't there, slow down and enjoy the day outside with a bunch of other runners.

I don't know where Kiawah Island is (and at the moment I'm too lazy to find out) but it sounds warm and inviting...and a good place to do ANYTHING...even run a marathon!

OMG, the race location looks stunning!! Lucky you...

Hey, you could always switch with me and run here in February!! Now that would freeze the balls off a brass monkey!! (not saying you're a monkey)...LOL....

Have fun....
