Since I'm quite sure you all diligently follow my training log, you'll note that I didn't complete the planned run yesterday. Not to fear, I haven't given up running. Regain your composure and read on.
:-)
I decided, regardless of temperature (or lack thereof) and wind, I was running at lunch. I had to try out my new Mizuno gear, right? I opted for the running pants, which lent themselves well to wearing shorts underneath (Marcy - unlike the tights, where you will find no panty lines on me!), and a long sleeve base layer under a long sleeve running shirt. Add on the running beanie and some running gloves, and I was just a touch on the cool side for the 8 miles in 29 degree weather, with 7-9mph winds. Should have worn a wind vest!
I did realize that running in very cold (for me) is a bunch of crap! My legs felt tight and my breathing inadequate the whole time. Unlike Stella, I just couldn't find my groove. So, plans are off to move to North Dakota. Sorry peeps: staying in the South!!
You may now return to your normally scheduled Case of the Mondays. :-)

You totally need to invest in a pair of running thongs :P
I think the case of the Mondays happens tomorrow for some peeps. You workin today?
Yeah 29 is the range I like for the winter gear, but not sure I'd want to do 8 miles in it. Hell, I don't want to do 8 miles in paradise. :D
See all the more reason to visit San Diego. Although it's raining today. Any updates on the visit?
you'll get your groove back in no time, it's supposed to warm up from this cold business soon. And, I clicked on your log but it wants me to sign in. 8-)
Okay, training log link is fixed for all of you that aren't signed up over there. Thanks for the heads-up, Neese!
I enjoyed my run in the 31 degree temps Sunday. I admit it though, I went with the tights. I'm intriqued by these Mizuno pants though. Gotta check'em out...
You are so freaking funny!!!
You have to transition from summer to fall right into winter for the lungs to acclimate correctly. Jumping out there in these frigid temps is crazy… wait … that would be you :)
Stella, how were the shoes?
That is chilly!
You the man.
Way to go. You rock.
It was very cold (to us anyway), and thanks for running in colder temps while I had a few degrees increase on my run!
burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :-)
I'm not much of a cold weather runner, either. It was in the 30s when I did mine today (that is cold for us) and for a while it actually hurt to breathe. Yes, I am a wuss.
Great job getting out there!
i like Marcys' suggestion about the thongs! i could totally see you in those! giddy-up!
