Not so much a brick...

but more of a block...of ice that is. Yesterday I went out for the first real brick of the season, and it just happened to be a balmy 37 degrees, with 8mph winds. I was feeling kinda hard-core for doing it, not seeing anyone else out on the roads running, riding, walking...or doing anything for that matter. As I pondered this while thawing in the post-exercise shower, it occurred to me that I may have been less hard-core, and more idiot. Come on, spring!

Thankfully, I can report that I'm feeling all my extremities again (even if Mendy refuses to feel some of them)! I was planning on running today, but may just take a rest (or core/weights) day. Probably ride tomorrow, and run Sunday. Then back to the wretched pool.

Have a great weekend, all. And have a great race, Mendy!!

Sa-weet. Yep, it was big chilly yesterday at lunch, and last night. You did it though and that's what counts.

Brrrrrr... sorry to alienate you all! If it makes you feel better I walked this morning when it was still only 65*. Yeah, I was cold too.

And that bike is pretty sweet! ;)

37 is balmy! Although I'm sure it's totally different on a bike. That would be a tad chilly ;-)

Cool. I had my first brick of the season last weekend. Katie tried to kill me with a 40 mile bike and a 4 mile tempo run. Surprisingly I was not completely cashed out. Maybe I have made some gains in the off season. Parris Island is only 2 weeks away. Are you gonna race it? Love to meet up there.

congrats a the first of the season (of many) brick.

Duh, I guess that if I had noticed your race schedule I would not have asked if you're racing PI. See you there.

Good on you to get out in the "cold", you haven't seen cold 'til you come up here!!! hahaha, it's not a good thing when you, let alone your wife can't feel your extremeties.....hahahaha,

Where is Mendy's race?

I've been "bricking" and not knowing it all along...I use the bike at the gym before running. We don't have a pool otherwise I'd be swimming too! Spring through Fall I bike and run, my Iron Man friend is always saying Try a Tri, but I only have a big old honking mountain bike, think I'd stick out like a sore thumb?.....

all you 'real' tri's have light weight bikes.....

have a great weekend!

Good job in the frigid cold!

BTW, you're the only one who noted the "Office Space" reference. Nicely done.

I guess it's all relative. I think 37 is darn cold for biking, but okay for running...

OK, first Chad needs to stop using my name. 37 degrees, that was about 40 deg cooler than my race :P
Spring will be here soon. As for Mendy touching your extremities, hmmm, isn't that how you got your beautiful little girl?
