My wife rocks!

With everything else she's busy with, and all the exercise, she was still able to bring together some great friends and family to "surprise" me at our favorite pizza joint (Mellow Mushroom) last night. I quote surprise because I knew something was up. She cut her run short, quickly showered, and came downstairs demanding we leave right away. Normally she would plop down on the couch for a few minutes and check all your blogs, then check email, and eventually we'd head out before I passed out from hunger. Nope, not last night. So I asked her what time we needed to be *there*, suspecting something was up, and she got tight-lipped. BINGO! She tried to play it off, but I knew something was up.

So, anyway, she got a bunch of folks together at the last minute to come out and chow down on some great pizza and have a really fun time. So many people, in fact, that it wasn't possible to speak with everyone as much as I'd liked. But I thank them for dropping what they had going and coming out. It meant a lot to me!!

And thanks to all you great blogging homeys for the birthday wishes. It's not every day you turn 83 (right Eric?), so it was awesome to have so many people wishing me their best. Grazie, my bestest peeps!

And a very special thanks to Tony and Pat, parents of my friend Alan that left us just before Thanksgiving. Our birthdays were only 4 days apart, which made us really feel like brothers growing up. Every day is hard for them, and times like this are even more significant. But they called to wish me a happy day, and that was incredibly special and touching to me. Thank you so much!

It was a great birthday, and Grace tried her best to steal the show. I'm just glad I was home this year, since I've been gone on other birthdays (both my own, and Mendy's). The best gift was being home. And yes, Mendy gave me presents, but that's all I'm saying. ;-)

I'll recap the trip later, but now I have to catch up with you guys.

You betcha' speedy-boy, It's not everyday you turn 83 but it IS every day you can act your age or your shoe size! I prefer the latter! It often gets me in trouble but at least the gray hair won't bother me.

Silly whipper-snapper! Your 40 is on the way too!

To answer your question: N-O-T-H-I-N-G!! HAHAHAHAA I'm so thoughtful, huh? Nah really Mr McG always says "Forget it, you're just going to spend my money on crap I don't even want" :P He's so practical. Maybe this year for his B-Day I will practice on my "T1" times LOL

Hey! I will be looking for your red shoes tomorrow morning :) Bad news- looks like I can't woop it up with you all tomorrow night- I have a sick grandfather (went in to get cancer taken care of and had a stroke) and it looks like I am traveling to see him after the race.
